Reproduction of the original Le Mans 24 Hours of Le Mans Race Poster.

This reproduction of the official 1924 poster is officially endorsed by the A.C.O.

23 x 35 inches
58 x 89 cm

This poster is after a color illustration by an unknown artist while the overall design was in the hands of the Ch. Hirvyl publishing house of Angers.

As the 1923 race did not attract a huge crowd, the 1924 poster stressed the party aspect and downplayed the race itself.

The night was again the main feature as it singled out the Le Mans event from the other French races.

There was some discreet advertising (Magondeaux eclairera le circuit) and the elitist choice was clearly stated with its lavish party and the mention "The elite of the car industry will take part in it.".

1970 Le Mans 24 Hours Poster Reproduction.

Reproduction of the original Le Mans 24 Hours Poster.

Officially endorsed by the A.C.O., the organizing body of the 24 Heures du Mans.

24 x 16 inches
61 x 41 cm

This poster is part of the so-called "Modern Photographic Approach" era in Le Mans posters which lasted from 1964 - 1971.

The 1970 Le Mans poster is based on a photograph by Le Mans photographer Andre Delourmel of the start of the 1969 edition.

Layout and production of the poster were in the hands of Imprimerie Oberthur.

The unusual photo was taken trackside in 1969, only a few seconds after the start. The number 12 Porsche 917 was the most powerfull car ever entered at Le Mans until then. The driver puts down the power and smokes the tires as the brute speeds away in a perfectly controlled slide.

The race itself was won by Richard Attwood & Hans Herrmann in their # 23 Porsche 917K (S/N 023) with a total of 343 laps to their name.
