The 1990 Le Mans poster is part of the "The star car used for sponsorship" era in Le Mans posters which lasted from 1981 to 1997.
Design of the 1990 Le Mans poster was again in the hands of the S. Conseil agency and is based on a color photograph of one of the Nissan R89 C's during practice.
This poster, which did not innovate in terms of graphics, is interesting from a symbolic point of view as it shows the rise in power of the Japanese makes which in 1990 were still very much outsiders at Le Mans.
The race was won by John Nielsen, Price Cobb and Martin Brundle in their Nr 3 Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-12 with a total of 359 laps to their name.

This is an original 1990 24 Heures du Mans Programme which has been autographed by Le Mans legend, Derek Bell.
Derek put his signature down in black marker, next to / above his bio on page 78.
The cover follows the design of the 1990 Le Mans poster and features the same color image of one of the Nissan R89 C's during practice.
The booklet measures some 19 x 27 cm and counts 90 pages which are filled to the brim with info on the race, the cars, the drivers and contemporary advertising.
Used, as the autographed was collected in the paddock, but good condition.

A GREAT item from the time when the mighty Group C 962's ruled the seas of endurance racing.
This is an original cylinderhead & cylinder of a 962.
In the 962, the head & cylinder were a one-piece assembly and so is this one.
This particular one comes from a blown engine and has "severe" damage to the combustion chamber. Two valves are locked solid in their guides and of a 3rd valve only the stem is left...
A great and rarely available conversation piece that everybody will want to study and take a closer look at. Looking down the cylinder bore gives a fascinating view of the 4-valve arrangement.
