This is a vintage 1956 press release by Gordon Wilkins on the # 14 Aston-Martin DBR1/250, chassis number DBR1/1.

This press release finally sheds some light on when this car retired from the 1956 24 Heures du mans. Most sources say that the car retired in the 24th hour with transmission trouble but here it is clearly stated that the car ran perfectly for 20 hours before it retired (which must be in the 21st hour then...).

Further more, it elaborates on the construction of the car and the second sheet states the technical details.

It also includes a photo of DBR1/1 in the pits of Le Mans of which the contours have been whited out for publication in a Swiss magazine.

A truely great set and historically important information on a great car!
