1969 Photo of Matra MS650 Spider Beltoise and Courage at Le Mans By Geoffrey Goddard.
This is vintage, i.e. printed shortly after the image was captured, 1969 Geoffrey Goddard photo of the number 33 Matra MS650 of Jean-Pierre Beltoise and the late Piers Courage en route to 4th place overall during the 1969 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The photo has been taken by master photographer Goddard at the White House section (Maison Blanche) after dawn on Saturday June 14, 1969.
I believe we see Piers Courage driving here.
The factory Equipe Matra entry completed 368 laps which dropped them just outside the podium behind the Ford GT40 of David Hobbs and Mike Hailwood.
Dimensions: approximately 24.5 x 20 cm.
The race was won by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver in their # 6 Ford GT 40 (S/N 1075) with a total of 372 laps to their name.
