Vintage 1965 Le Mans 24 Hours Race Program.
Absolutely mint condition for its age!
The cover follows the design of the 1965 race poster with a photograph, taken by Le Mans photographer Andre Delourmel, of the start of the 1964 running of the Le Mans race with the field storming towards the famous Dunlop curve. The colors of the photograph were heavily touched up for use on the poster and programme cover.
Comes complete with the (often missing!) Index of Performance conversion chart!
It measures some 21 x 27 cm and counts 112 pages which are filled to the brim with information on the cars, the race and of course great period advertising.
The booklets also served as a ticket in the grand prize draw in which you could win a Renault 16 car, a Schneider TV set or a Kodak camera and, consequently, they were individually numbered; this one being 002947 but it might be a little late to claim your prize now...
The race was won by Jochen Rindt & Masten Gregory in their # 21 Ferrari 250 LM (S/N 5893) with a total of 348 laps to their name.
For Ferrari, this would be the last time that they won the 24 Heures du Mans...
