Vintage 1923 Photo of Edouard Probst at Le Mans in Berliet VH 12HP + Sales Leaflet.
This is a vintage 1923 photo of the Berliet VH 12HP of Edouard Probst and "Redon" during the VERY FIRST 24 Hours of Le Mans EVER! The race was then called the "Premiere Grand Prix d'Endurance".
Please note that this is VINTAGE photo, NOT a modern reproduction of ANY kind!
It is also the very first item of the first Le Mans ever that we unearthed.
The photo shows the Berliet storming past the Texaco stand on the start - finish straight during the daytime.
The couple finished on a shared 19th place (together with the La Lorraine Dietrich of Bloch-Stalter) with a total of 1.519 kms to their name.
We also happend to come across a very rare sales leaflet of the Berliet 12HP. We throw this leaflet in as a bonus for the buyer of this VERY rare Le Mans item.
Dimensions: approximately 3.5 x 2.5 inches or 9 x 6.5 cm.

This book, issued in 1949 by the A.C.O. (organizing body of the 24 Heures du Mans), if often considered as THE prized possession for serious Le Mans collectors.
It was a limited edition of 1000 pcs back in 1949 of which only a few survive to this day and of which most have found their way into collections where they will probably stay for ever.
We are very proud to be able to offer for sale this particular copy, number # 949 out of the 1.000 produced, and which survives in decent condition (not mint).
Being a BIG book, some 25 x 32 cm or 10 x 13 inches and 471 pages (some 6 cm or 2.5 inches thick!) it is a very detailed account of the 24 Hours races as held in the pre WW2 era (1923 - 1939) including stats and reports on the drivers with countless illustrations and portraits by the fantastic artist, Geo Ham (Georges Hamel).
Very, VERY scarce and an absolute "must have" for the endearing Le Mans collector!
Only 1 pc available of course !
