In the picture we see the car being driven by Paul Frere in the pouring rain heading for the Dunlop bridge.
The photo measures some 24 x 18 cm or 9.5 x 7.1 inches.
The back carries NO photographer's stamp.
The race was won by Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb in their Jaguar D-Type (S/N XKD505) with a total of 307 laps to their name.

The car was driven to second place with 293 laps, 12 laps behind the winning Ferrari 250TR of Paul Frere and Phil Hill, by Graham and Peter Whitehead.
The photo was shot by H. Beroul, a photographer from Le Mans and it carries its stamp on the back

Vintage 1959 Press Photo of the crashed Aston Martin DBR1/300 of Brian Naylor, the Cooper Monaco of Bruce McLaren and the Stanguellini Faure and Guyot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This is a vintage 1959 Associated Press Photo of the crashed Nr 7 Aston Martin DBR1 (S/N 5) of Brian Naylor (and Graham Whitehead) near Maison Blanche where Brian had skidded off the track at around 10.00 PM on June 20, 1959 during the 1959 running of Les 24 Heures du Mans.
Also in the picture (albeit very hard to make out) are the remains of the Cooper Monaco T49 Climax of Bruce McLaren and Jim Russell and the Stanguelini Efac SP5601 Fiat of Rene Philippe Faure and George Guyot, all of which crashed out of the race at exactly the same spot on the track within an hour of eachother.
The photo measures some 18 x 24 cm or 7 x 9.5 inches.
It is in decent condition.

Kerguen teamed up with "Franc" for the race and the duo managed 134 laps before the headgasket gave way...
